executive agreement

executive agreement
A treaty-like agreement with another country in which the President may bind the country without submission to the Senate (as in the case of a treaty). United States v. Belmont, 301 U.S. 324, 57 S.Ct. 758, 81 L.Ed. 1134.
Executive Agreements prevail over contrary state law. Even though there is no express constitutional authority for such agreements, their constitutional validity has been long established. United States v. Belmont, 301 U.S. 324, 57 S.Ct. 758, 81 L.Ed. 1134
